Power Supply

SeventyPWR has 70W of output power (+12V / 2500mA, -12V / 2500mA and +5V / 2000mA). The design is based on the more powerful HammerPWR PSU with few upgrades.

SeventyPWR PSU is targeted to all who want enough power, low noise, high efficiency, best filtering, and a high level of power stability and secure protection for all modules in the Eurorack case.

The narrow shape of SeventyPWR allows it to mount between two bus boards. A double output terminal connects wires separately to two (or four) bus boards. This minimalizes the wire length and impedance of the power network. SeventyPWR works perfectly with all standard bus boards.

A special feature of SeventyPWR is the possibility to adjust output voltage in a safe range. Output voltages +12V and -12V are factory adjusted with an accuracy of 0,1% or better. Adjusting features can compensate for voltage drops on wires under load. This feature allows setting very accurate voltage directly on the module’s power inputs.

As is our practice SeventyPWR comes with overvoltage, over temperature, over current, short current, overload, and input reverse polarity protection. There are two stages of input filters which decrease noise from power brick and the electrical grid.

SeventyPWR is safely + externally powered from a 90W power brick (Meanwell GSM90A19-P1M – sold separately ) to make sure you and your modules are safe as well under all conditions. The inlet panel with connector and switch comes with PSU as basic accessories.

Filtered BusBoard is a low-profile bus board with extra filtered output headers. This is an ideal bus board for all Konstant Lab power supplies but also works with other eurorack power supplies as well. The bus board contains 18 output headers. 12 direct headers with decoupling capacitors and 6 filtered headers with unique filtering circuits. Filtered headers are specially dedicated to feeding analog modules that are sensitive/susceptible to power quality. Decoupling capacitors and LC filters reject noise caused by PSU and digital modules by 70%. Two 4 ways DIP switches can tune filtration capacity when some PSU has starting problems with big capacity on output – especially handy if you have a lot of digital modules present in your system. Each power rail is protected against overvoltage for your modules and systems safety. 90% of the bus board area has only 11mm in height with inserted connectors. This feature makes the Filtered bus board an ideal power distribution solution for skiff cases where depth is a concern.

We all know how popular the RT65b Meanwell PSU is in the world of DIY eurorack cases. Everyone who ever worked with this PSU knows that unfortunately, it has all the screw terminals exposed. Leaving the screw terminal connector uncovered creates several risks. Firstly, it can lead to unintentional short circuits. Secondly, you are risking damaging the expensive modules if they come in contact with high voltage AC connectors. Thirdly, and most importantly, contact with high voltage AC can cause personal injury.
Therefore we decided to come with a solution to this problem! We have designed and manufactured a terminal cover that fits the RT65B Meanwell PSU perfectly!

RT65B Screws Terminal Cover Details

- Our Mean Well RT65B Screws Terminal Cover is super small. It doesn’t take any additional space in your eurorack case. The entire screw terminal cover fits within the contour of the PSU housing. Most importantly, the cover is small enough that it doesn’t cover terminal descriptions. Therefore you will clearly see which wires conduct AC or DC voltages.
- Installation is super easy. It doesn’t require any drilling or gluing. All you need to do is to remove one screw from the PSU, slide the screw terminal cover in place and secure it in place with the replacement screw that we supply.
- We build our Mean Well RT65B Screws Terminal Cover from bright orange plastic. Therefore visually you won’t miss the fact that you put your fingers or modules close to the power supply.
- The main purpose of the screw terminal cover is to not allow contact with the connectors. However, it doesn’t mean you can be careless with the installation! Remember that you work with high AC voltage! All connections must be made in accordance with the standards for proper insulation of electrical devices. If you are unfamiliar with the subject, hire a specialist to do it for you.

ATTENTION!

Assembly and connection of any parts leading mains voltage (e.g. mains inlet, power supply board, cables) are allowed only by qualified personnel who are familiar with the applicable safety regulations! For a layman, it is strictly forbidden to carry out such assemblies or connections!
All parts that lead mains voltage (wires, PCB tracks, electronic parts) have to be fully isolated against damage to the device before the unit is powered so that accidental contact with these parts is not possible! Otherwise, there is a danger to life!

Bus Board Standoffs become extremely handy when you need to lift Bus Board, or other PCB – few mm above the mounting surface. These spacers have a 7 mm outside diameter and drill hole 3.6 mm thus they work perfectly with 2.9 x 13 mm screws.

For example:

Mounting surface is more than 10mm thick?

Use our 2.9 x 13 mm screws. With standard 1.6 mm thick PCBs use 3 mm long Standoffs to get 8.4 mm long threads left that will go inside mounting surface.
